Trailer - The Expendables
Review: The Expendables brings the "Action Movie" genre back to its basics, it embodies everything that was great about the "shoot first, ask questions later" films of the 80's and early 90's.
The cast is a who's who of action giants, from the legendary Stallone and Statham to the up and coming Steve Austin and Randy Couture, all of whom seem to have had a fun time making this Movie.
The amount of explosions and gun fights ensure you get enough bang for your buck which is great because the plot is very thin at best and a lot of the acting is very hamfisted and cringe-worthy at times but to be very honest I didn't care!
This film managed to bring me back to the days of Commando, Rambo, Die Hard, Cobra, etc, when all i wanted to see were action hero's shooting the bad guys and saying some cheesy one-liners.
Will this win any Oscars? No, but do we really care? In a time when we just want to be entertained for an hour and a half on a Friday evening this is pure perfection!
Very Recommended!
